Presentation from the Public:

  • Chairman Updike informed the board that he had received a call from Sandy Frei, 2332 Hidden Meadows Drive, regarding the Charter cable service. She would like to be able to get the Sun Prairie school channel and was told that the Town has the option to choose to get that channel versus the Madison channel. Chairman Updike asked that clerk Quick review the contract and supervisor Pogue contact Charter. Based on their findings action will be taken at the next Board meeting.
  • Cindy Yelk also spoke at this time informing the Board that she has submitted papers to be a write-in candidate for treasurer for the Town of Sun Prairie. She gave a summary of her education and experience.

Report on Town Roads. Patrolman Farrell reported on the following:

  • Cost to repair Wes’ truck including towing $3,824.39.
  • Dennis’ truck needed repair of main hydraulic hose.
  • Used the Case loader a great deal when trucks were laid up. Works great!
  • Good supply of salt remains and all equipment is now back in shape.
  • Discussed maintenance needed on sections of Town Hall Drive, Berlin Road, Ridge Road and Baxter Road. Consensus was to have a road tour with board members and highway patrolmen.
  • Dennis suggested that a letter of thanks be written to Troy Statz and Statz Bros. Inc. to thank them for the help received during the last snowstorms.
  • Next year patrolman Farrell feels that a third person needs to be found to help with snow removal. It was very difficult to keep up with the blowing snow. Finding an experienced person may be a challenge.
