Presentation re:  WDOT presentation – High Speed Rail Design and Schedule as it effects the Town of Sun Prairie.  Representatives from WI DOT were present to give the elected officials information about the high speed rail system construction.  The projected time frame for land bridge construction and road crossings were discussed.  Construction crews should be in this area in October 2010.  L Updike addressed the weight limits on the town roads, especially given the time of year the construction is taking place. V Pogue asked if the construction will interfere with Duffy Grain and how they are addressing this issue.  Specific issues were brought up by residents; the WI DOT reps encouraged the public to attend the meeting at Sun Prairie City Hall on August 25th.  The rail website is: www.WISCONSINRAIL.gov.

Presentation T. Knoeck, Waste Management, Recycling Program.  T Knoeck talked to the board about the town participating in a recycling program that would give the town a commodity rebate for the recyclables collected.  This will require an amendment to the contract with Waste Management.  This will be placed on the agenda for the September meeting.
