Call to Order. Chairperson L Updike called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 5556 Twin Lane Road. Supervisors V Pogue and D Yelk, Clerk J Ramsfield, Treasurer C Yelk, and Joan Rademacher were present.

Statement of Public Notice. The chair directed that the minutes show notice of the meeting was published in the April 19th issue of The Star and posted on the three town bulletin boards and the website on April 20, 2012.

Pledge of Allegiance:  J Ramsfield led the pledge.

Approve Minutes of Prior Meetings: Moved by V Pogue second by D Yelk to approve the minutes of April 9, 2012 Town Board Meeting as presented.

Consider/Take Action Re: Approval of Petition #10415 by J & K Rademacher.  Petitioners propose rezone of 2 acres of a 33.366 parcel from A-1 (EX) to RH-1 to separate their  existing home from the remainder of the parcel at 5010 Town Hall Dr in Section 27, Town of Sun Prairie. J Rademacher gave the board members an overview of the purpose for the split. Supervisor D Yelk stated that from the perspective of the Plan Commission it is a basic home removal from an existing farm parcel.  Moved by D Yelk second by V Pogue to approve Petition #10415 by J & K Rademacher to rezone 2 acres of a 33.366 parcel from A-1 (EX) to RH-1 to separate the existing home at 5010 Town Hall Dr in Section 27, Town of Sun Prairie.

Committee Updates:

  • Fire Advisory: L Updike reporting – The City of Sun Prairie advised the advisory board that they would be terminating the current contract for fire protection with the intention to renegotiate a new contract. The new full time firefighters will start May 1, 2012.  The Fire Advisory board will meet in a couple of months. The board members generally discussed town options if the City decides to go to a full time paid fire department.
  • EMS: nothing new to report
  • Town of Sun Prairie/Village Cottage Grove Boundary Talks: committee will meet May 14th.
  • Colonial Club group will meet May 17.

Audit 2011 Financial Books of the Clerk and Treasurer: The Board reviewed 2011 Financial Books of the Clerk and Treasurer’s beginning/ending balances against the actual bank statements for the year along with corresponding checks, receipts and invoices.  Moved by V Pogue, second by D Yelk to accept the financial books of the clerk and treasurer as being in balance and in order
