Town Board Minutes for January 26, 2015

Call to Order – Regular Town Meeting was called to order by Town Chair, L Updike at 7 p.m.; present were Supervisors V Pogue and D Yelk, Clerk J Ramsfield, Treasurer C Yelk, A Bosben, S Froehle, and P Bullwinkel.

Statement of Public Notice – The chair directed that the minutes show that notice of this meeting was posted on the website and three Town bulletin boards January 22, 2015.

Pledge of Allegiance – The Pledge was led by V Pogue.

Public Comment: A Bosben suggested the board invite the Dane County Drainage District board to a meeting to explain the drainage district invoice recently received by many town residents. L Updike offered the town hall as a meeting place and suggested A Bosben contact the district board to set up the meeting.

Committee Updates

  • Plan Commission: D Yelk reported on the January 22nd meeting at the town hall. The persons present were D Yelk, R Fetterly, V Maly, M Devenish, J Muir, S Tubbs, and M Hazelbaker, town attorney. After the discussion the Plan Commission asked M Hazelbaker to draft a Modified Developer’s Agreement. The draft agreement will be discussed at the next plan commission meeting in January.
  • 2889 Bailey Road land division – Moved by V Pogue, second by D Yelk to approve the petition DCPREZ-2014-10811 to split off and rezone a 1.0 acre R-1A Residential lot from a 2.673 acre RH-1 Rural Homes parcel to allow construction of a new home on the R-1A lot at 2889 Bailey Road in Section 17, Town of Sun Prairie.

Voting Nay: none

  • EMS: V Pogue summarized the EMS director’s report.
  • Fire Unit: D Yelk reported the Fire Chief election was over. Tory Strauss was elected Fire Chief.
  • Parks: L Updike talked about the Boy Scouts projects for Generations Park.
  • Farm Technology Days: Nothing new to report.

Old Business – C Yelk, addressing the restriction of trash/recycle equipment on certain town roads, stated the resident that lives on Faber Road stopped by the office looking for an explanation & to make a formal complaint about the restriction of trash/recycle equipment on Faber Road.

New Business/Correspondence: Nothing discussed.

Audit/Pay Bills.  Moved by V Pogue second by D Yelk to approve payment of bills including the handwritten additions.

Set Next Meeting Date/Adjournment: The next board meeting will be February 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.  Moved by V Pogue second by D Yelk, to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
