Call to Order. The regular meeting of the Town of Sun Prairie Plan Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The following members were present: Chairman Roger Fetterly, Alan Meyer, Paul Stang, John Quimby and Doug Yelk. Excused: Jane Case and Dot Havens. Also present: Town Chairman Lyle Updike.
Public Notice. Notice of the meeting was mailed to Plan Commission members and posted on the three Town bulletin boards on October 11, 2016.
Approve the minutes of previous meeting. Hearing no objections, the September 19, 2016 minutes were approved as submitted.
Lyle Updike provided an update on the progress of the Dane County Towns Association committee drafting a zoning ordinance for towns considering withdrawing from Dane County zoning.
The proposed zoning ordinance was reviewed and corrections, edits and revisions were suggested to take back to the drafting committee.
Changes to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan to conform to the Town zoning under the proposed zoning ordinance were presented and discussed.
The proposed zoning ordinance requires the Town to create an Official Town Map. Assistance from Dane County planning will be requested to develop a digital map using geographical information systems methods.
At the December meeting a public hearing will be held to allow the public to be heard on the proposed zoning ordinance, changes to the Comprehensive Plan and a proposed Official Map.
Set Next Regular Meeting Date. The next regular meeting date of the Town of Sun Prairie Plan Commission is scheduled for November 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
