Town Board Meeting and Public Hearing

May 28, 2003

 

The Town Board of the Town of Sun Prairie met on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 5556 Twin Lane Road.

Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by chairperson Lyle Updike. Supervisors Vernon Pogue and Doug Yelk, clerk Claudia Quick, deputy clerk Joan Rademacher and Dennis Farrell highway patrolman were present. Three additional people attended the meeting.

Statement of Public Notice The chair directed that the minutes show that notice of the Town Board meeting was published in the May 22, 2003 issue of The Star. The agenda was also faxed to the Capital Times. Copies were posted on the two town bulletin boards and temporarily at Buckshot’s Hwy. N on May 22, 2003.

Open Road Bids The road bids were opened and recorded. The contracts will be awarded at the June 9, 2003 Town Board Meeting.

Approve Minutes of Previous Meeting Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to approve the minutes of the May 12, 2003 meeting. Motion carried.

Report on Town Roads Dennis Farrell reported that the new truck is being built and should be completed by the end of June.

Consider and Take Action re: Enforcement of Weight Limit Ordinance Dennis Farrell spoke with Sergeant Candy Lynn Konz of the State Patrol. The State Patrol will enforce the weight limit ordinance on all posted roads with no fee for this service. There was no action taken by the Board at this time.

Audit and Pay Bills Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.

Old Business/New Business

  1. EMS – Vernon Pogue gave a short report.

2. Plan Commission – Doug Yelk reported on the progress of the Town Comprehensive Plan.

3. Lyle Updike reported on meetings he attended regarding the Colonial Club and Patrick Marsh.

Correspondence Clerk, Claudia Quick reported that Gary LaRue has brought preliminary plans in for his commercial plat. He will be on the June 9, 2003 agenda.

Set Next Meeting Date/Adjournment The next meeting date was set for Monday, June 9, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The chairman declared the meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
