Board of Review &Town Board Meeting
June 9, 2003
The Town Board of the Town of Sun Prairie met on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 7:25 P.M. at the Town Hall, 5556 Twin Lane Road for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the thirty day period beginning on the 2nd Monday of May, pursuant to Sec. 70.47(1) of Wisconsin Statutes. As the assessment roll is not completed at this time
It was moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to adjourn this meeting to June 23, 2003 at 7:25 P.M. Motion carried.

Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by chairperson Lyle Updike. Supervisors Vernon Pogue and Doug Yelk, clerk Claudia Quick, deputy clerk Joan Rademacher and Dennis Farrell highway patrolman were present. Six additional people attended the meeting.
Statement of Public Notice The chair directed that the minutes show that notice of the June 9, 2003 Town Board meeting was published in the June 5, 2003 issue of The Star. The agenda was also faxed to the Capital Times. Copies were posted on the two town bulletin boards and temporarily at Buckshot’s Hwy. N on June 6, 2003.
Award Road Bid Contracts Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to award the bid for seal coating to Scott Construction with the low bid of $21,720.05. Motion carried. Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to award the bid for Twin Lane Road re-construction to Frank Brothers with the low bid of $116,961.00 that also includes saw cutting. The Twin Lane Road re-construction is a TRIP project. Motion carried
Consider special exception request regarding setback by M. Troudt, Lot 36, Drovers Woods M. Troudt stated that she needed a letter from the Board acknowledging that the Board was notified of her request for a variance for setback on her property. The Board agreed to send a letter of acknowledgement to the Dane County Board of Adjustment. No formal action was taken.
Consider Preliminary Plans for residential lots in Section 19 by H. Starks H. Starks presented a plan for residential lots in Section 19. The Board informed him that there is a moratorium in effect at this time that does not allow for land divisions. He was encouraged to attend the Plan Commission meetings and the various meetings that will be held before the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan.
Approve Minutes of Previous Meeting Moved by Doug Yelk, second by Vernon Pogue to approve the minutes of the May 28, 2003 meeting. Motion carried.

Report on Town Roads Dennis Farrell reported that the road bids awarded this evening were within his budget. Dennis Farrell and Wesley Dorshorst have begun to widen out Twin Lane Road in preparation for the re-construction. He will be notifying the Fire Dept. and EMS, as the road will be closed during construction. Dennis also stated the new Town truck should be delivered by the end of June 2003.
Consider Preliminary Plat by G. LaRue for Commercial Property on CTH TT, Section 32 D. Birrenkott, of Birrenkott Surveying presented the plat report for G. LaRue. The Board reviewed the preliminary plat. The review covered items such as cul-de-sac design, storm water management area and pond maintenance. Dennis Farrell asked that two items be included in the plans – culverts not be laid in an askew manner and LaRue Lane be regraded. Consensus of the Board was that he could proceed with the developer’s agreement, letter of credit for the road, construction schedule etc. and will meet with the Board at a future date.
Audit and Pay Bills The Board reviewed the invoice listing. Moved by Doug Yelk, second by Vernon Pogue to approve payment of bills as listed including the additions. Motion carried.

Set Next Meeting Date/Adjournment The next meeting date was set for Monday, June 23, 2003 at 7:30 P.M. Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The chairman declared the meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M.
