Town Board Meeting
November 8, 2004
The Town Board of the Town of Sun Prairie met on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall, 5556 Twin Lane Road.
Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by chairperson Lyle Updike. Supervisors Vernon Pogue and Doug Yelk, clerk Claudia Quick and deputy clerk Joan Rademacher were present. Kendall Corbett also attended the meeting.
Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Joan Rademacher.
Statement of Public Notice The chair directed that the minutes show that notice of the Town Board meeting were posted on the three town bulletin boards on November 5, 2004.
Approve Minutes of Previous Meetings Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to approve the minutes as presented from the October 25, 2004 meeting. Motion carried.

Open, Consider and Possibly Award Bids for Curbside Collection Chairman Updike opened the only bid received for curbside collection. Waste Management submitted the bid for a 5-year contract. Kendall Corbett from Waste Management discussed the bid with the board. The bid for 2005 is $6.72 for garbage collection and $2.92 for recycling collection per month per household. The agreement amendment currently in the contract with Waste Management and the Town was discussed. This agreement includes: no charge to the Town or to the residents for replacement recycling bins; charge for removal of white goods from residences will be $25.00 per appliance; and larger items such as sofas, recliners, carpeting are to be picked up at the curbside at no extra charge. Moved by Lyle Updike, second by Doug Yelk to award the contract for curbside collection to Waste Management – Madison for the years 2005 through 2009 per the bid agreement, the amendment to the bid agreement and specifications on the bid form. Motion carried.

Consider Final Adoption of Municipal Court Ordinance Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to approve Ordinance 2004-4 the Municipal Court Ordinance. Motion carried.
Consider and Take Action re: amendments to County Ordinance concerning setback from wetlands, considerations of conditional use permits and a based education & entertainment in A-1 Ex Ag district
Consider and Take Action re: Operator License Applications None.
Audit and Pay Bills Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to approve the payment of bills as presented with an increase in pay to poll workers for the November 2, 2004 Federal election at a total cost of $1035.00. Motion carried.

Correspondence Received from Madison Planning and Development a review of the Town of Sun Prairie’s Comprehensive Plan.
Set Next Meeting Date/Adjournment The next meeting date was set for Monday, November 22, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. This meeting will follow the Public Hearing for the 2005 Budget and Special Town Meeting of the Electors. Moved by Vernon Pogue, second by Doug Yelk to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The chairman declared the meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
